Artist Statement

“My subject is the connection between our ancient heritage and modern life — the Nile Valley and its people as the source of well-being.”

Born in Ismailia and trained at the College of Fine Arts, Minya University, Reda Abdelrahman is one of Egypt's leading contemporary artists. His work explores the connections between ancient Egyptian heritage and modern life — with a recurring emphasis on agriculture and the Nile Valley as sources of well-being — blending Pharaonic and decorative elements with hieroglyphic reference across painting, mural and mosaic.
